Titled Get a Life, my story reinterprets the well known moves of Cinderella in her fabled rags-to-riches transformation and rescue.  From this familiar vehicle the narrative provides an exploration of darker adult themes.  The protagonist, Cin-dee, is ageing, single, and on the lower rungs of the social ladder. She is gauche, brave and desperate.  She wants to be saved from the drab realities of modern urban culture. The interplay of words and images creates an energetic and colourful snapshot of her life.  Fantasy and humor are the escape routes from truly cringeworthy scenarios. You are left to enjoy the anticipation of how Cin-dee will resolve life’s grand existential questions within the framework of the fairy tale.

We all have an inner Cin-dee and recognition of this may prompt us to ponder our own dark places. We might even fall for the happy ending in the hope that finally there will be a chance for salvation.
